Explore by bike Parma old city center with its monuments, its beautiful green areas and the nearby Regional Park “Parco Regionale dei Boschi di Carrega” along the Taro Valley. That’s the proposal of the tour “Parma and surroundings: explore them by bike”. This two day tour is completed by local product and dishes tastings, from Parmigiano-Reggiano to Salame di Felino, to the typical “torta fritta”.
2 days/1 night. Validity: Spring, Summer and Autumn.
This tour is recommended for mountain bike lovers and for those who have a good physical training.

Moving about by bike is a true Parma tradition. The flat countryside encourages the use of the bicycle and this means of transport has become a popular tradition thanks also to the numerous cycle paths in both the city and the countryside. For all these reasons, Parma is one of the Italian cities with the greatest number of bikes and exploring the territory using this means is a natural thing to do.
PARMA by bike: pedalling through the historical centre of town, through parks, alleyways and round monuments (about 8 hours including pauses)
Arrival in Parma, meet the specialist MTB guide and the tourist guide and begin your tour through the most beautiful city squares and parks: Piazzale Santa Croce, the splendid Ducal Park, Piazzale della Pace with the Pilotta Palace, the Gardens of St Paul’s, the atmospheric Cathedral Square with the imposing Romanesque Cathedral and the glorious pink and white marble Baptistery. During your tour, light lunch in a restaurant in the centre of town based on the Parma specialities of cold cuts and torta fritta. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Breakfast, transfer to the Giarola Court. Departure with the specialist MTB guide for your tour along the Taro River Valley: the Taro Park, Oppiano, Ozzano, Gaiano, Talignano, the Regional Park of the Carrega Woods. Stop in Collecchio to visit a cheese plant to see the production of Parmigiano-Reggiano with a tasting of cheese, strolghino salame, Felino salame and bread. Return to the Giarola Court. Departure.
