Carmen and Norma, masterpieces by Georges Bizet and Vincenzo Bellini, Donizetti's La Favorita, the Parma debut of Kurt Weill's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, and the world premiere operetta Gran Teatro Reinach commissioned to celebrate the city's beloved Reinach Theater, which was destroyed in the bombings of World War II. Five titles and 22 performances from December 2021 through April 2022 make up the Teatro Regio di Parma's Opera Season.

Then the tour touches Verdi’s Land, BussetoRoncole and Sant’Agata, where Maestro Giuseppe Verdi was born, lived and cultivated his talent; then the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza with its enchanting fortresses and castles.

A tour following the passion for opera music and for Maestro Giuseppe Verdi, discovering Parma with its artistic soul, Verdi homelands and the traditional cuisine of the Italian Food Valley. 

First day
Arrival and visit to the old-town of Parma: Cathedral, Baptistery, Farnese Theatre and the Casa Natale Arturo Toscanini (house where Toscanini was born). Lunch at leisure in a downtown restaurant featuring local Parma cuisine. Afternoon: free for personal leisure or guided visit to the ancient food shops in Parma city centre with the possibility of a tasting session of typical products: Parmigiano-Reggiano PDO, Prosciutto di Parma PDO (Parma Ham), Culatello di Zibello PDO, Colli di Parma wines DOC. Representation of an opera at the Teatro Regio in Parma. Dinner in restaurant in Parma, before or after theatre. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Second day
Breakfast and check-out.
Leave for Verdi Homelands: Roncole Verdi, Sant’Agata and Busseto, the house where he was born, Villa Verdi in Sant'agata, Teatro Verdi and Casa Barezzi Museum. Lunch at leisure in Busseto. Afternoon: visit to the National Giuseppe Verdi Museum inside Villa Pallavicino and to the Renata Tebaldi Museum
