An unforgettable experience in Parma with world-class music, a magical setting, and the perfect start to 2026
  • Details

In the heart of Emilia, Parma welcomes the arrival of the New Year with an event that blends emotion, art, and deep reflection. It’s a unique opportunity to celebrate New Year’s Eve — and the first day of the year — to the timeless sound of one of classical music’s most powerful masterpieces.

On December 31, 2025 at 6:00 PM and January 1, 2026 at 11:30 AM, the Auditorium Paganini will host the traditional New Year’s Concert, featuring Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. This iconic performance also marks a milestone: the 50th Anniversary Season of the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini.

A Message of Unity and Hope

On the podium will be Valentin Uryupin, leading the Filarmonica Toscanini, accompanied by an outstanding cast of soloists: Ava Dodd (soprano), Josè Maria Lo Monaco (mezzo-soprano), Andrew Morstein (tenor), and Ben McAteer (bass). They will be joined by the Chorus of the Teatro Regio di Parma, prepared by Martino Faggiani.

More than just a concert, Beethoven’s Ninth is a collective ritual — a musical embrace that transcends time and speaks to all generations. Composed during a period of great personal hardship, the symphony moves from darkness to light, from isolation to shared joy. The famous line “All men become brothers” is not just poetry: it’s a call to believe in humanity once again.

Begin the Year with Beauty and Meaning

Experiencing Beethoven’s Ninth in Parma is a profoundly moving way to start the year — immersed in music, surrounded by history, and inspired by a city that lives and breathes culture.
