New Year's Eve is back in grand style and in grand music in Parma, in the splendid settings of Teatro Regio and Auditorium Paganini, also masterpieces of art and architecture. It begins at Parma's Teatro Regio on Dec. 31 at 9 p.m. with the Operetta Il paese dei campanelli by Carlo Lombardo and Virgilio Ranzato and continues on Jan. 1 at 12:00 p.m. at the Niccolò Paganini Auditorium with the New Year's Concert featuring the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic, the great conductor Timothy Brock and the Vocal Quartet from London's West End performing music by Bernstein, Porter, Gershwin, Berlin, Kern ....
After the concert, lunch tasting the best Food Valley typical products and enjoying Parma traditional feast menu.
For those who are still not satiated with music or like to get up leisurely on New Year's morning, the afternoon at 6 p.m. will feature what has become a tradition for Parma, the New Year's Concert performed by I Filarmonici di Busseto at Teatro Regio di Parma (on clarinet Corrado Giuffredi, accordion Cesare Chiacchiaretta, guitar Giampaolo Bandini, percussion Roger Catino, double bass Antonio Mercurio). Music by Johann Strauss, Giuseppe Verdi, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, George Gershwin, Astor Piazzolla. The mostly Parmesan and world-renowned musicians will perform a joyful and engaging repertoire.
